Mourinho Gives His Verdict On Moses, Traore, RLC And Begovic With Some Big News Inside!

Pre-season are meant to be a good training session for players before the real football starts. It is also a mean for the younger guys to impress the manager and establish themselves into the team.

Although, our performance against New York Red Bulls yesterday was far from good, there were few guys who were actually impressive for us. One of them was the forgotten man, Victor Moses! The Nigerian started on the Wings and played the first 45 minutes before being subbed off in the second half. Let’s see what the manager thinks of the impressive young man:

“I see him fitting in. He’s strong, he’s experienced, he’s fast, he’s aggressive. He has to learn how to play with us obviously, but I’m happy with his week, with his 45 minutes. The next match, 45 more minutes. Victor had an evolution over the past couple years.”

Well, that’s a big news and if Mourinho means what he is saying, we might need another winger after all! Victor Moses had a very good season with Stoke City last year and if he can improve on his form, there’s no doubt he can play a big part for us next season!

Another young man who was looking to impress yesterday was Bertrand Traore! The Burkina Faso man had a good 45 minutes on the pitch although, Mourinho thinks there’s still a lot of room to improve:

“Traore’s not going on loan. We want to keep him, we want to improve him. With the ball he has a lot of talent but sometimes he doesn’t make the right decisions yet.

“He had situations in the first half against the Red Bulls when we wanted to counter attack and he kept coming inside – he doesn’t make the best decisions. But this is absolutely normal. But step by step; good kid, good talent.

Another big news coming out of this pre-season game! Bertrand Traore is set to stay with the Blues! The youngster had an amazing season with Vitesse on loan and Jose Mourinho now confirms the stay of the youngster with the first team! Who says Mourinho hates the kids?

Lots have been said and talked about Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The youngster had a quite game when he came on in the second half in our 4-2 loss. Let’s hear Mourinho’s verdict on the Englishman:

“He has lots of talent and we know that. He’s another one that I am not interested in letting go on loan. I want to keep him because he has to improve a lot. In this moment, he is far from being in condition to play for us. “

Mourinho had already made it pretty clear that RLC would be staying with the Blues this season. Although, he reckons that the Englishman is still not in the condition to start for us regularly.

Lastly, a word on Asmir Begovic who was particularly dire in front of the goal. Although, a lot of it had to do with the lack of communication between the defenders and the keeper.

“Begovic was not sharp, a consequence of being tired from training. In the next game against PSG he will start.”

Mourinho blames tiredness, I say a lack of communication between the keeper and the defender which can 0nly be sorted with time.

Buckle up boys! Next stop PSG and Barcelona. The pre-season is going to be fun!
