John Terry – Falcao Was The Best I faced Last Season!

Why did we sign an out of form striker? Will Radamel Falcao discover his lost mojo? Is the Colombian good enough to lead the line for us?

These are some questions that have been running around the head of countless Chelsea fans all over the globe. Unfortunately, we don’t have the answer to all these questions, yet! All we can do right now is analyze the Colombian and anticipate whether he would succeed/fail at Stamford Bridge next season.

Although, Jose Mourinho and our team management seem to think otherwise. They are pretty sure Falcao will come good in Blue. Mourinho, in a recent interview, disclosed that it was actually Gary Cahill and John Terry who convinced them in signing the superstar for Chelsea. After all, both the Englishmen are one of the best defenders in the world! So, if they recommend someone, you have to pay heed, right?

Well, here’s what John Terry has to say about the Falcao situation:

“I could tell pretty much straight away how good he was and how difficult he was to mark.

“Literally after two minutes he was backing in. He did the same to Gary Cahill. We had a little tussle on the floor 10 to 15 minutes later.

“He was up for it, was hungry, his movement and first touch were both excellent.

“You get that feeling as well. You can tell after a couple of minutes – it’s ‘I’ll give a bit and he’ll give a bit.’ I just thought he was up for it that day and Gary felt the same.

“For me, Falcao and Tottenham’s Harry Kane were the best players I came up against last season. So we are delighted to have Radamel here now because he’s a top, top player.”

I am not sure I would compare last season’s Falcao to the magnificent Harry Kane but, then again, John Terry understands football better than me and he must have his reasons if he thinks so!
Whether he is talking genuine truth or just trying to build Falcao’s confidence, I don’t know, but either way, if it helps Falcao perform to his best level, I am up for it!

With Costa probably out of the Community Shield tie due to his recurring and irritating hamstring problem, we are left with Remy and Falcao to lead the line. What better time to bang some goals and break Arsenal’s dream of winning a trophy, yet again!
