The Fiorentina fiasco in the Salah case is getting rather irritating now. The Viola are acting like a kid in this whole situation, and I, for one, can’t wait for the Chelsea vs Fiorentina pre-season game at Stamford Bridge next month! I am sure our season ticket holders feel the same!
After Mohamed Salah made sure that he won’t be returning to the Serie A side on loan this summer, the sensible thing Fiorentina could have done was to ask Chelsea for their money back. It’s entirely possible that Salah was at fault and that’s why there were talks going on about the possible legal actions. But that’s between Salah and the Viola. Unfortunately, we are being drawn into this mess again.
The Director General of Fiorentina, Andrea Rogg, expects Chelsea to honour the loan terms with a new player along with the 700,000 they paid us for the Egyptian:
“The rapport between Fiorentina and Chelsea is excellent.
“There has been some contact between clubs. Our position is open to a solution, without forgetting that we have more than one reason to feel we are right about this.
“We want to emerge from this situation in an amicable manner. Chelsea have many interesting players and this could be the route we go down.”

The 700,000 pounds for Salah sounds fine but a loan deal and that too for Ruben Loftus-Cheek?
“Fiorentina have presented an intriguing set of conditions to Chelsea in order to avoid FIFA arbitration and a potential six-month ban for the Egypt international.
The first criterion is to receive a different player on loan for €1m, as promised in the terms of the Juan Guillermo Cuadrado sale in January. It’s reported the man they want in place of Salah is 19-year-old England midfielder Loftus-Cheek.
The Viola ask for a ‘value’ payment for improving Salah’s price-tag while he spent six months playing regularly in Florence. They also require that Salah be barred from joining Inter this summer, a club they openly accused of trying to illegally poach while under contract.
However, Fiorentina would allow a transfer to a different Serie A rival, namely Roma, who behaved ‘better’ in the entire saga.”

Woah! That’s completely stupid! There’s no way we are following those conditions!
First of all, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is not for sale/loan. Mourinho has made it pretty clear that he expects the Englishman to challenge for the first team spot next season. So, better keep your filthy hands off the boy Fiorentina! The “value” payment for improving Salah’s price-tag seems to be another stupid condition.
Honestly, I feel, Fiorentina are way over their head and we should probably avoid doing business with them in the future. Bring on that pre-season game!
