Filipe Luis has been tipped for a return to his old club after just spending a year at Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian fullback was unable to displace Cesar Azpilicueta for the starting Left-Back spot as the speculation over his impending move grew louder amongst the tabloids.
As we covered this news story earlier in the day, Mirror has been providing update on the situation:
“Chelsea are set to move for Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba Rahman this week after finally agreeing to sell Filipe Luis to Atletico Madrid.
“The Champions have been keen to finalize Luis’s departure before going for 21-year-old Rahman with the speedy Ghana international keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
“It is understood Atletico have paid £11million for Luis rising to £15million. The Brazil international has signed a three-year deal.”

Although, the news is not yet official, but Filipe Luis’s departure looks rather imminent anyway with the Brazilian keen to rejoin Diego Simeone on the less pretentious side of Madrid.
So where does that leaves us?
As Mirror reports, Baba Rahman is set to replace Filipe Luis and challenge Cesar Azpilicueta for the first team place. The Ghanaian was being regarded as the best young Left-Back in Bundesliga last season and there’s no reason why he can’t keep Azpilicueta on his toes at Chelsea. The 21-year-old is famous for his explosive speed and physical play and will suit Premier League just like a duck to water!
Baba Rahman is currently valued at 15 Million Pounds, roughly the same amount we will receive for Luis if he leaves. This seems like a good and smart transfer business to me as Baba still has a lot of time to grow as a player and eventually make the Left-Back spot his own!
