Another Chelsea Midfielder Head Out To Vitesse On Loan

Chelsea’s first signing of the season Nathan Allan de Souza seems to be heading out on loan. According to the Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, the deal sends the newly captured Brazilian out on loan to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.

Nathan becomes the second player of the season to be loaned out to Vitesse with English player Lewis Baker being loaned out initially. Although, there’s no official news yet, the loan move would probably be for the whole season.

The Brazilian starlet’s move to Vitesse is just to enhance and give him an experience of European football. Also, he cannot be granted a work permit because of strict FA rulings. According to rules by FA, a player should have played a specific amount of matches for his national side to play in the Premier League. A loan move is the best move for both the clubs as young Chelsea players get a good amount of game time, and Vitesse can do with some amazingly gifted players in their squad.

Surprisingly, the Brazilian is the sixteenth Chelsea player since 2010 to be sent out on loan to Vitesse. Chelsea and Vitesse have had good relations as Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and Vitesse owner Alexander Chigrinsky are friends and business associates. Nathan was the first signing Chelsea made this summer; he was purchased from Atletico Paranaense for 4.5 million euros in April. The Brazilian was a target of major top flights around Europe, however; he snubbed all the clubs to join Chelsea. He had an impressive outing in under-17 World Cup back in 2013 and majority of the clubs were vying for his signature.

If rumors are to believe, Nathan had a major contract issue with his ex-club Atletico Paranaense. The midfielder seems to be a good loan dealing for Vitesse Arnhem, and hopefully he can have an impressive season in Eredivisie. Nathan’s versatility and pace are his major assets that Vitesse manager Peter Bosz would like to explore next season. Chelsea loanees like Bertrand Traore, Josh McEachran, Lucas Piazon have had some decent seasons when they were loaned out to Vitesse, and I hope that Nathan can make this opportunity count too.
