After signing Falcao on a one-year loan deal from AS Monaco, the Blues are now closing in on 19-year-old Brazilian attacker Robert Kenedy according to The Telegraph.
The Fluminense front man has been a long-term target for Chelsea’s rivals Manchester United and Italian giants Inter Milan but as the sources say, Chelsea are the favorites to clinch him. Kenedy has made 20 appearances for Fluminense’s senior team and has also played for Brazil’s under 17 and 20 sides.
Robert has been a target for European clubs since 2013 after he impressed everyone with his brilliant performance in Under-17 South American Championship where he netted six goals and was Brazil’s top goal scorer. As a forward Kenedy has an impressive physical strength and remarkable agility due to which he becomes a real threat to the defenders.
Along with these aspects, he is also a prolific dribbler who uses his trippy foot moments to mock defenders. Kenedy also has an eye for the goal, and he is good at taking long shots and is also excellent inside the box striker. His positioning inside the box is accurate to the tee, and he rarely misses a chance to score while he also has the attribute to create chances and initiate buildups.
Taking it all into the account Kenedy is a complete package and a perfect Premier League material. But it is very unlikely for him to crack into Chelsea’s first team, and hence he will probably have to go through few loan spells and prove himself along the way before he gets his chance with us. As mentioned earlier Chelsea are the strongest contenders to sign him and according to recent interviews Kenedy has also shown a keen interest in Premier League Football.
