Agent Confirms Midfielder Isn’t Leaving The Bridge This Summer!

Juan Cuadrado and Mohamed Salah have been ruling our summer transfer business, and not for good reasons too. We all know what’s going on with Salah and Fiorentina as of late while, Juan Cuadrado has also been linked to half a dozen clubs since the start of the window.

Until Yesterday, the Colombian winger was tipped to leave the Bridge either on loan or on permanent transfer with Juventus coming out as the most likely destination. Today though, Cuadrado’s agent has come out to deny these rumors with the following statement:

“I read with amazement in some English and Italian newspapers about imaginary figures and agents associated with Cuadrado, so I think it is right to clarify the situation.
Cuadrado is a Chelsea player, strongly backed by Mourinho who believes in him. Juan is fine in London and is very likely to remain at Chelsea.
He has interest from other teams but I repeat; Juan is a Chelsea player.”

It’s been only six months since Cuadrado joined the Blues. Although, it would be fair to say that the 27-year-old hasn’t done anything worthwhile in the limited minutes he has managed on the pitch. It’s pretty obvious that most of the fans are upset with this transfer and probably want to see the back of Cuadrado, sooner rather than later.

Jose Mourinho, however, is said to be a big admirer of the winger. As Juan’s agent reiterated, the Colombian is strongly backed by the Portuguese, and if that’s the case, I don’t see Cuadrado leaving the Bridge this summer!

Although, if we do come across an offer that we can’t refuse (see Mata, Schurrle, DeBuyne), we might allow him to leave the Bridge to make funds for a Griezmann kind of signing. And I don’t think anyone would have a problem with that. Right?

But if not, I say stick with Cuadrado for at least six more months. If the Colombian rediscovers his World Cup form that made him a hot target among the European clubs, the Falcao-Cuadrado combo could be a deadly one to watch out for! If he still fails to impact the Premier League, we can always get rid of him in January!  How does that sounds folks?
