Starlets from the footballing world continue to be linked with the English Champions, as media houses take a toll on variant talents across the globe.
Another addition to the transfer rumours is the Turkish Mid-fielder, Adra Turin. Turin joined the Spanish side, Atletico de Madrid from Galatasaray in 2011 for a fee projected around 13 Million Euros and since then his progress has been anything but depraved. However, now it looks like the bearded winger wants to look forward to a new challenge in Premier League after having 4 amazing seasons with Atletico.
This is what his agent, Ahmet Bulut has to say,
“Arda intends to leave Spain this summer and his will is to play in the Premier League,”
“That is where he wants to take his career at this time.”
This news has bought glitter in Mourinho’s eyes, as he looks forward to making Turan his 3rd signing from Atletico, since his return to the bridge. It seems that Atletico have demanded a fee of around 18 Million Euros for Turan, a bargain isn’t it?
Chelsea, however, plans to make a deal that would see Filipe Luis go the other way and rejoin Atletico Madrid. The signing of Turan looks very much imminent as he perfectly bills Mourinho’s conditions, i.e. decent experience in Europe, versatile, strong and also an Atletico player.
Let’s take a deeper look at how Turan pans out in the Chelsea outfit.
Strengths, Weaknesses and Style of Play:
Arda Turan’s playing style is just tailor made, the Mourinho way. Turan is strong on the ball and is very good in holding the ball. His excellent holding skills have made Simeone make him play as a wing back on both the flanks whenever needed. Also, apart from his attacking game he performs his defensive duties quite well and falls back to the aid of defenders. He has very well contributed at the back and does backtracking to maximum effect.
Another major plus point to his game-play is his dribbling skills and has caused major problems for the full backs. His game-play has been a delight to watch and his linking with Griezmann this season, was a delight to watch. However, the major talking point about Turan’s style of play has been passing. The Turkish winger has laid off some really amazing passes and his chance creation ability has been nearly perfect. His pass completion percentage has been a towering 85.2%, which is amazingly high as compared to major wingers in the top 5 Leagues of Europe.
However, a player isn’t complete unless and until his drawbacks are noticed. Turan has scored 3 goals and assisted in 6 goals this season in all competitions for Atletico, which is one goal less than Willian and one assist more than him. Chelsea fans already have a divided opinion for the Brazilian winger and adding another winger like him might puzzle everybody. Also, his shooting abilities are doubted as he has a low-lying shot accuracy percentage of 50%.
It seems that Mourinho is going all out to sign Turan as he has just two years left in his contract. Although, Mourinho said that team already looks fine and only a few new names will be attached to the team sheet, Turan does sound good, doesn’t he?
