German Centre-Back Keen On Chelsea Move
Antonio Rudiger is not a name that many might have come across. For the record, Antonio Rudiger is a 22-year old German central defender who plays for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
The defender started his youth career with Borussia Dortmund and later moved to Stuttgart. On 29th January 2012, Rüdiger made his Bundesliga debut for VfB Stuttgart in a home professional match against Borussia Monchengladbach. On 19 April 2013, Rüdiger extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until June 2017. He represented various German national youth teams and made his senior debut in 2014 in Germany’s 0-0 draw against Poland.
In a shocking decision made in the middle of the transfer window, the defender changed his agent and appointed his older brother Sahr Senesie as his new representative. Bild reckons there has been a difference of opinion between the player and his former agent; as a result of which they have now parted ways. Rudiger said that he couldn’t say no to his brother when he approached him to become his future advisor.
The player seems keen to leave the club, and his preferred clubs are Wolfsburg, Porto or Chelsea, according to reports from German tabloid Bild.
The chances of a possible move to West London are slim as Chelsea are already sport for young defenders. Moreover, Jose Mourinho would rather look for an established defender and wouldn’t waste money on raw talent such as Rudiger.
