Radamel Falcao has been on Mourinho’s target list ever since Van Gaal’s decision of not extending the Colombian’s spell at Old Trafford.
The striker, recovering from his knee injury lately and also missing the World Cup last year, could only score an embarrassing total of 4 goals in 26 appearances overall in his stint with the Red Devils. Chelsea, at the moment are among the leading contenders in the race for the Colombian and will surely look to pounce upon this chance, to sign the former Atletico Madrid man.
Blues’ current first choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has enough experience of playing in the same team with the striker during his loan spell at Atletico Madrid and now believes that Chelsea should go for the 29-year-old. According to The Guardian, the Belgian was quoted as saying:
“I know Falcao very well. He’s a very good boy, he’s a good friend of mine so if he comes, great. It’s the decision of the club but he would be a very good player for Chelsea.”
Chelsea’s striker, Diego Costa, who was on a beast mode since his arrival at the Bridge, also used to line up along with Falcao in the Atletico shirt; and the duo scored a total of 54 goals in their 2012-13 campaign.
And if both these men can combine like that for Chelsea as well, then Jose’s team will be an even bigger nightmare for the opposition’s defense, in the coming season. And who knows, with Costa on his side, Falcao may find his old footings that he was unable to find at the Manchester giants.
Most of Jose’s decisions in the transfer markets have brought good fortunes for us. And if Falcao’s signing is completed, then we can absolutely trust Mou on his ability to get the best out of him.
