19-year-old Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen has found himself way down the pecking order at Chelsea and wants to move away from the Bridge temporarily, for some game time.
According to reports from The Bild, Borussia Monchengladbach expressed their interested to land the young Chelsea defender in their squad on a loan spell. The youngster is known for his versatility, as he plays various positions including CB, RB, CDM.
Christensen was signed as a free transfer by Chelsea in February 2012 from Brondby IF. He made his first official senior debut for Chelsea in October 2014 against Shrewsbury in a League Cup match, playing the full 90 minutes as a right-back. He later received praise from Jose Mourinho for his performance (something not so common and is worthy on its own). He then appeared for the final few minutes playing at the same position in the FA Cup defeat against Bradford.
He made his Premier League debut on May 24, 2015 against Sunderland, replacing John Obi Mikel for the final 12 minutes in a deep-lying midfield role. He made his senior international debut for Denmark in a friendly win against Montenegro last week.
But three appearances a season are not sufficient for an improving player as the key factor in his development is experience and game time. So Chelsea are in favour of the loan deal that looks like is almost over. Therefore, one more youngster leaves on a loan for next season.
