People call us greedy; people call us flaunters; people call us pompous! Why not? When we actually are proud to support our beloved Chelsea and when we have such wonderful fellow supporters within us.
Mizo Chelsea Supporters’ Club from India has shown how magnificent supporters we are! On June 14, 2015 enthusiastic members of the Mizo Chelsea Supporters’ Club donated 21 units of blood at Aizawl Civil Hospital as a form of celebration for Chelsea FC’s recent victorious stint, grabbing both, the English Premier League and the League Cup.
More than 50 Chelsea fans turned up in Mizoram, India for this donation camp and after conducting several formality and medical tests, 21 donors were able to donate blood to the hospital. A hardcore Manchester United fan Lalsangkima (Moris Hmar) and an ardent Arsenal supporter H. Lalhmingmawia (Amawia Hmar) also showed up for the donation camp.
It is no secret that football has it’s roots deeply planted in the hearts of the Mizo people, who have been fervent followers of European Football since the 1990s. One might say that almost every Mizo can be counted as a fan of one of the EPL clubs.
This shows how such clubs and communities which are formed for supporting their clubs in Europe also actively participate and organize such socially benefiting events for the locals. Such supporters from India heavily participate in and take initiatives for public and society’s welfare. One of many such initiatives, was the blood donation camp organized by the Mizo Chelsea Supporters’ Club from India.
We take this opportunity to thank our fellow Blues from the north-eastern part of India for giving us another chance to feel proud to be a True Blue! Keep rocking fellas!!
