The quest to catch all the young and talented stars is in full flow at Chelsea Football Club as the transfer window grows near!
If you are a Chelsea fan, you probably would have heard of Nathan De Souza. Not because of his heroics at some top club in Europe, but rather because of the transfer saga that has been surrounding the Brazilian wonder kid for the last couple of months. Nathan has been linked to Chelsea for quite a while now, and the kid seemed to have “almost” signed for the Blues. But nothing was made official until Monday when the Brazilian finally put pen to paper and became the latest signing for the Blues.
The 19-year-old Nathan was obviously over the moon with such a big step in his career and posted the following message on his Instagram page after the deal was official:
“A dream is coming true! First of all I want to thank God for always lighting my way, my dad who always believed in my talent and was a real warrior while helping me to reach my goals, my family and friends who always supported me…”
“And I am also thankful to Club Atletico Paranaense, which was part of this journey and where I played for 6 years of my career. Thank you, Chelsea, for trusting in me, I will do my best to support my team on reaching new achievements. WE ARE ALL BLUE.”
So there you have it! Nathan is a Chelsea player with a Blue heart through and through! The rumored price tag surrounding this transfer is thought to be somewhere around 4.5 million pounds. The cheap price tag also comes with its advantages. Nathan had an extremely good U-17 World Cup where he scored and assisted 5 goals. The kid has certainly got the talent to succeed at the highest level. Even if it were not in the Blue shirt, he would still be good enough to generate a favorable profit from his sale in the future.
The small price tag and no experience at the highest level will also mean that he will have trouble getting a work permit in England. Hence, he will most certainly have to spend the next season on loan somewhere else. Jose Mourinho has already said that Nathan is a player for the future, so we will have to wait and see how his career pans out on a loan. Besides, you can never have too many Brazilians! Right?
