Five Reasons Why Chelsea Should Buy Pogba
With a double this season and the numerous records in the name of Chelsea, it is no surprise that we will be heavily linked to world class talents in the transfer market. We will again be competing on all fronts next season.
This summer would probably be quiet, but with Mourinho you never know. Chelsea – Pogba link up has been making rounds on the internet for long now along with other Premier League giants; however, Chelsea is presumed to be a strong contender in the race.
Daily Express reports that Juventus have denied that they have reached up an agreement with PSG for the 22 year old French maestro. However, Chelsea will have to go through a tough battle with heavy pursed Manchester City as they will be eager to land him at Etihad this summer.
Pogba won’t come cheap, and neither the talent. Juventus looks interested in Oscar and us in Pogba, and as we cannot afford any passengers in the side next season, we can’t have Oscar fading in the second half again. Selling Ramires and Oscar would free up funds for Pogba’s move. Even otherwise, we are coping well with Financial Fair Play and now, we will also have the money that comes along with the Premier League title.
Let us look into the five reasons to buy Pogba:
World Class Talent:
Pogba is among the best box to box midfielders today and Mourinho loves such gameplay oriented midfielders. He is strong in almost all areas, he can dribble, pass, defend and shoot. As he is only 22 now, he will only become better. He also posses the potential to be in the list of Ballon d’Or contenders in a few years time. We will want to do better in Champions League next season and such addition to the star-studded Blues’ line up, would make it easier. Pogba’s technique, dynamism, intelligence and touch have been indicative of a player who has the potential to become one of the best. He is a delight to watch, he is acrobatic and has an eye for the spectacular.
The Special One:
Under Mourinho’s guidance, he will justify his talent. Mourinho has made Hazard unplayable this season and he also contributes in the back. Pogba will want to be winning titles and playing in elite teams, he also needs game time, thus Chelsea is the best place to be. There is no better manager than Mourinho and he knows how to get the best out of his players. Mourinho has shown that he can play both fluid and efficient football, and Pogba would love to work under a manager who is tactically brilliant. His ego shouldn’t be much of a problem, Mourinho has shown in the past that he can get the best out of egotistical players.
Pogba can play in a 3-5-2 , 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation. He also works hard for the team and Mourinho would love his versatility. We have gone three at the back when chasing, and Pogba would add a new dimension to our attack. His powerful and long shots can be serious tests to the keepers. He has high footballing IQ and would suit our game style easily. We lack physicality since, Oscar, Cesc, Hazard and Willian are all small. Pogba is already better than the other option that Mourinho is looking at – Koke. He is as good as Yaya Toure if not better.
P$G outplayed us at our own game when they visited the Bridge in the second leg of Round of 16 – Champions League. They were physical, disciplined and compact. Pogba would add size and physicality to our midfield. He will make us more balanced, Matic and Pogba together would boss any midfield in the world. With him, Cesc can play with a lot more freedom. His versatile nature would give us a lot of options as we can play Matic, Pogba and Cesc in a 4-3-3 with Hazard and Willian/Cuadrado/Oscar as wingers. More options will mean more rotation and less tiredness. We lack a box-to-box midfielder who can test the goalkeeper from long. His passing is also underrated. He is very agile for a player of his size and he is the right type for us.
He has a point to prove in England:
He will love to make Manchester United regret their decision to not give him game time and later sell him for cheap ( less than 1 Million Euros). He would thus be very motivated to do well in England. Mourinho will mould a player with that kind of motivation and ambition into a beast. And wouldn’t we all love to see the faces of United fans after such a transfer. The fact that Sir Alex Ferguson’s biggest mistake resulted in a world class player joining their direct rival will make them weep even more.
