Chelsea’s Best Possible Line-up Against West Brom
After pulling out a draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, the Champions of England will now travel to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion in a Monday night clash.
Chelsea have already won the Premier League and West Brom sits comfortably on the 13th position. As, they neither have any relegation threat, nor a possible chance to get in the top half of the table, both teams will be going into the clash with nothing to lose. Because of these scenarios, the game will not be a very interesting one tactically, but Chelsea lineups will feature many youth academy players as Jose promised earlier.
Here’s how the Blues may lineup at The Hawthorns:
Goalkeeper – Petr Cech
If he plays this will be his second last game as a Chelsea player, as it is almost sure that he is going to leave the Blues after League. His performance in previous League games has been very impressive as he has conceded just 1 goal since March 2014.
Right Back – Branislav Ivanovic
The best right back in Premier League has started almost each and every game this season and hence he will start this one as well. The big man has been in top notch form since the start of the season and has contributed in both attack and defense.
Centre Back – John Terry
Terry is unarguably the most reliable and consistent player in Premier League, this season. He started and played every single minute of Premier League football and he will play this game as well.
Centre Back – Gary Cahill
Zouma suffered a knock in the previous game and he is still not declared fit to play. While Cahill has been Jose’s first choice to pair with Terry and given the chemistry they both enjoy, he will start this game.
Left Back – Filipe Luis
Luis gave a decent performance against Liverpool and since Azpilicueta started almost every game this season, Luis hardly got a chance to display his abilities. But whenever given a chance, Luis has given a top notch performance, hence he will start this match and the next one as well.
Defensive Midfield – Nemanja Matic
Without Matic Chelsea are very clumsy and lose a defensive liability. Matic was rested last week and he is fit and fine to start this game so there is no chance Jose will replace him with another midfielder.
Central Midfield – Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Last week Jose’s golden boy was paired with Mikel and he gave an impressive performance. Jose has faith in him and he will start this game as well. It will be very exciting to see him along side Matic in central midfield.
Right Wing – Juan Cuadrado
It’s been weeks since the Columbian has started a game. Willian is worn out by playing too many games lately, Cuadrado will start this one. It will be a great opportunity for Cuardado to display his skills and abilities for Jose to notice.
Central Attacking Midfield – Eden Hazard
Since Hazard has started each and every game this season, he will start this one as well. It will be challenging for the Premier League Player of the Year to play in an unfamiliar position, but it will be exciting for us to watch him play there.
Left Wing – Izzy Brown
Brown has been in top notch from for Chelsea’s youth team this season. Just like Loftus-Cheek, Jose has immense faith in Brown. Jose has also made it clear that Brown is a part of his future plans, hence he might start this game.
Striker – Diego Costa
Recently, Jose said that Diego Costa has recovered from his injury, hence the chances for him to start this game are very strong. We can also expect a goal or two from the front man as he is desperate to win the golden boot.
