Chelsea need just three more points to win the Premier League, and their upcoming fixture is against cross London rivals Crystal Palace at Stamford Bride this coming Sunday.
Chelsea are 13 points clear at the top while Palace are in the 12th position striving hard to get into the top half of the table. For Chelsea, it will not be an easy fixture as Crystal Palace have always caused problems for big teams like Manchester City and Liverpool in the past and this season as well. With no players suspended, and most of the first team members fit to play, here is Chelsea’s best possible lineup to play in the final showdown against Crystal Palace.
Courtois was on the bench during the midweek clash against Leicester City, so the chances of him starting between the posts are very high. Apart from this, he has also been in impressive form and is almost irreplaceable now.
Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, John Terry & Cesar Azpilicueta
Since this is a very important fixture, Jose will not risk changing his best possible defensive line. All four players have been regulars for the Blues since the start of the season and have done a very good job. John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic were among the standout performers against Leicester while Cahill and Azpilicueta were impressive as well. So any changes in the back four look highly unlikely.
Nemanja Matic, Ramires, Willian, Cesc Fabregas & Eden Hazard
The midfield will not be changed either as this group of players gave an extraordinary performance against Leicester. Fabregas, Matic, and Hazard have been irreplaceable while Willian is set to start owing to his excellent form in recent weeks. Oscar could have started in place of Ramires, but the former Benfica man also impressed Jose with his performance against Leicester. Against Palace, Matic and Ramires will be deployed as central midfielders in the pivot shielding the back four. Hazard and Willian will play on the left and right flanks respectively while Fabregas will be used as the number ten behind the striker.
With Diego Costa still unfit and Remy just coming back from an injury, Didier Drogba will most probably lead the line for Chelsea. Drogba’s presence will be very influential for the Blues as he has netted some important goals this season. One of them was the equalizer against Leicester in this midweek clash which gave Chelsea the motivation to go ahead and kill the game in style.
