We are at the business end of the season and probably on our way to another Premier League title. Obviously, the talks have been shifted from actual football to the transfer rumors and considering that we are one of the biggest clubs in the world, it’s natural to be linked to world class players.
Amongst all the talents, we are been linked with, the talk of the town has obviously been Oscar in the past few weeks. With the reports circulating all over the internet on a possible departure of the Brazilian in the summer, the fans have been anxious on this situation and it was about time that Oscar put these rumors to bed by swearing his allegiance to the Stamford Bridge’s faithfuls.
Talking ahead of the clash with Manchester United, this is what the 23-year-old midfielder had to say when inquired about his allegiance to the club:
“I’m very happy here. I get along with everyone here and the club shows its praise to me.
Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world so I can’t see why I would think of leaving the club.”
Indeed, we are one of the greatest clubs in the world. And as the Brazilian stated, it would be incredibly stupid for him to move somewhere else, when he is a regular starter for Chelsea at such a young age.
However, his recent drop in form has left Mourinho unimpressed, with the former Internacional man unable to perform consistently for the team. This has also led the Portuguese to drop him to the bench in recent few fixtures.
If you thought that might not bode well with Oscar, well, you were wrong!
“I’m very happy with Chelsea’s season so far. I’m happy with my own performances as well but reckon that I could have contributed more to the team. There are different tactics depending on the opponent we face and we respect the manager choices. Sometimes I ended up not playing the entire match but I’m doing my best to fulfill my role. So yes, I’m happy with my performances.” Source: Fourfourtwo.com
So, there you have it! The Brazilian is well aware of his recent drop in form and he is definitely aware that he may not start every game for the Blues but that doesn’t prompt him to make a move to somewhere else.
There have been a lot of overreaction over Oscar’s recent performances. But the truth is, the Brazilian is an integral part of the team in the system we play and there is little doubt that he will not be wearing the Blue jersey, come next season!
