Mourinho’s men are edging closer and closer towards the Premier League title with consecutive wins at both home and away. Chelsea’s latest fixture was versus QPR at the Loftus Road the game ended 0-1 in Chelsea’s favor with the likes of the goal scored by Fabregas. This was Chelsea’s 700th match in the Roman Era, Hazard’s 100th Premier League match for Chelsea and Oscar’s 150 appearance for Chelsea. This game also marked Chelsea’s first win in 45 years at the Loftus road. Talking about the game, the game was not at all entertaining for neutrals as both team were sloppy and were not creating a lot of chances.
Chelsea started the first half very slowly and were very clumsy on the ball. Chelsea’s attacks were very loose and ineffective the reason why they didn’t score any goals. Chelsea did dominate the game on possession and shots but there was no end product. The star performers from the first half were; Didier Drogba who created 3 chances but didn’t have any go on the goal and Nemanja Matic who was brilliant in all aspects as he made 9 clearances, 2 successful dribbles, 1 successful tackle and won 6 aerial duels. Other players were satisfactory while some were below average.
Second half was no different Chelsea were sloppy and their game had no end product but the scenario changed after Oscar was introduced to the game by taking off Ramires. Blues created more chances and their movements were fast. QPR’s game also improved in the second as their star striker Charlie Austin attempted a few deadly shots on goal which were stopped and saved by Courtois. In the entire game Chelsea had only one shot on target out of 9 and that was the goal scored by Fabregas in the 88th which was beautifully crafted by Hazard and Oscar.
The game was not at entertaining but in the end all that mattered was the 3 away points which brought Chelsea closer to the title. A defeat or draw here would have caused a major setback before the Man United game but Chelsea in the dying minutes showed great enthusiasm and got the winner like true champions.
