West Ham vs Chelsea – Blues’ Possible Starting Eleven

We are the League Cup championssssss and that surely means we are in for a lot of celebration, eh? Nope, apparently not! When you have Jose Mourinho as your manager.

“It’s beautiful to be back at Wembley, but it will be 20 minutes of celebration, then back to training and we have a big game on Wednesday.” – JOSE MOURINHO

Hell yeah! I guess that’s why Jose is being hailed as one of the best in the business. The Portuguese knows we need to add more trophies to the League Cup and with Manchester City succumbing to a loss against Liverpool, we have an amazing chance to extend our lead to 8 points once again. Premier League, here we come!

Now, West Ham might not be playing at the level they started this season but, Big Sam’s side is still no slouch either and this being an away fixture, we have to be at our very best to gain the unassailable lead of 8 points.

Nemanja Matic still serving his ridiculous ban while Mikel out injured are the two known absentees from tomorrow’s fixture and here’s how we think Mourinho might start at Boleyn Ground:

Petr Cech was preferred to the Belgian for the League Cup final because as per Mourinho:

“I chose Cech because this was his competition”.

Yeah, that’s fair and it surely works when you have two of the best GK’s in the business. But we would surely see the Belgian back in the goalpost when we line up against West Ham tomorrow.

Cahill might not have been at his best lately, but the Englishman did extremely well to counter the threat of Harry Kane and redeemed himself after that awful performance against Spurs on New Year. He is once again expected to partner Terry in the defense tomorrow.

The Spaniard will start yet again ahead of Filipe Luis to counter West Ham’s pace on the wings and him generally being more defensively sound than Luis, Azpi would surely be preferred to start tomorrow.

No doubt the Serbian starts at his usual RB spot as he has been one of the better performers for us in the past few weeks.

In the absence of Matic and Mikel and with Big Sam’s side boasting a quite physical midfield, we shouldn’t be surprised to see Zouma start once again as the lone holder in a 4-3-3 line-up for the Blues to provide some physicality in the middle and also to counter the threat of Valencia and Sakho.

The duo are expected to pair up once again in the center of the midfield, as Fabregas works his usual magic from the deep while Ramires presses the opposition intensely whenever he has the opportunity.

As usual, Hazard will start at the LB spot, with a bit of an extra attacking burden in our possible 4-3-3 line-up.

The Brazilian will compliment Hazard on the opposite wing ahead of the Juan Cuadrado and Oscar as we expect a “Willianesque” performance from the winger with tireless running all game long.

The Spaniard seems to be getting his goalscoring touch back and we expect him to be at his very best when he lines up at Boleyn Ground tomorrow.
