Hull City vs Chelsea – Blues’ Possible Starting Eleven

So, I was thinking, with all the criticism and flake we have been receiving as of late, we are still most probably gonna end this season with two damn trophies, and that also includes the most coveted and sought after trophy in Premier League!

So much for the haters and those poor, mediocre Arsenal fans who will again be happy and content on managing to qualify for the Champions League. At least we are winning some trophies!

So, with 6 points clear at the top and with a game in hand we travel to KC Stadium tomorrow to square up against a struggling Hull City managed by Steve Bruce. Just 3 points clear of the relegation zone, The Tigers would do great if they manage to salvage a point against the Blues, while the Jose Mourinho’s men will look to avoid the situation they found themselves in last week against Southampton.
With John Obi Mikel as the only known absentee for the Blues, this is how we think the Portuguese might line up on sunday:

There’s no reason for the Belgian to not deserve a start after 3 Man of The Match performances in a row for the Blues. Although, the backup option that we have on the bench would be equally good too. So spoiled we are on this front!

Again no reason for not starting either one of them against The Tigers tomorrow. John Terry has been ever present for the Blues in the defense while, Gary Cahill is looking good too for the past few weeks. The duo would most probably start alongside each other tomorrow.

Mourinho might prefer Luis over Azpilicueta for the simple reason that we need to provide width against a side like Hull City who would look to play deep and narrow against us but then again with their aerial presence in the absence, we might just see Azpilicueta ahead of the Brazilian. Tough call.

No doubts here though, as the Serbian is a clear starter in Mourinho’s book because of the versatility he provides on the pitch.

There’s no doubt that the duo would start alongside each other in the midfield, but the question is, would Mourinho go with a 4-3-3 formation and sacrifice Oscar for Ramires? Only time will tell, but I would like to see Oscar in the line-up ahead of the Brazilian!

No issues here as the Belgian will make yet another start in the Blues’ shirt when he sets foot in the KC Stadium. Slaughtering Michael Dawson is definitely on the cards!

Cuadrado hasn’t shown enough to guarantee his place ahead of the Brazilian which means Willian will start on the opposite wing. If nothing spectacular, we hope for a Willianesque performance from the winger.

There’s a fair bit of chance that Mourinho might prefer Ramires or even Cuadrado ahead of the Brazilian but I would go with Oscar in the No. 10 slot because of his ability to use the high pressing tactics to good effect and also controlling the pace of the game by interchanging his positions with Fabregas.

The Spaniard broke his mini goal scoring drought against the Saints last week and he would like to build on that performance with a brace maybe? We definitely hope so!
