On paper, it’s an easy battle with Chelsea, no doubt, the better of the two side. But that’s the beauty of Premier League, isn’t it? You can never be sure of the 3 points until you perform on the pitch and that’s exactly what the league leaders will set out to do when they host the relegation battling side Burnley at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
The Blues’ have been fortunate on the injury front as John Obi Mikel was the only absentee in the PSG clash in the midweek. Although Fabregas, Willian, Oscar, Hazard and also Ivanovic weren’t 100%, but they were fit enough to play some part in the game and we certainly hope that’s the case tomorrow.
A regulation win is what we require if we hope to wrap up the PL title with City sniffing around our back. So, here’s how we think Mourinho will line-up when he sets foot at the Bridge tomorrow:
GK – THIBAUT COURTOIS
After the Man Of The Match performance against PSG, the Belgian is set to start once again for the Blues’. Although, the form, both of our GK’s are in, no one would mind Cech at the back either! God, it’s so good to have two of the best in our helms!
CB – JOHN TERRY and KURT ZOUMA
Terry and Cahill gave an excellent performance against PSG in the mid-week, but Mourinho might want to go with Kurt Zouma alongside Terry tomorrow, given the speed and agility of young Danny Ings for the visitors. Afterall, Zouma did own the likes of Lukaku, Sterling and Aguero at the Bridge!
LB – FILIPE LUIS
This might be the time we see Filipe Luis start at the LB spot. Burnley will definitely look to sit deep and absorb pressure for the major part of the game and Luis can provide that width from the left to break open an astute defense.
RB – BRANISLAV IVANOVIC
The Serbian has been in an absolutely amazing form as of late, with scoring important goals, defending brilliantly and providing width down the right side and there’s no doubt why he doesn’t start tomorrow!
CM – NEMANJA MATIC and CESC FABREGAS
The tried and tested duo of Matic and Fabregas will start alongside each other once again at the Bridge tomorrow with Fabregas looking to provide the magical touch from the deep while Matic bulldozing some unfortunate Clarets in the midfield.
LW – EDEN HAZARD
As I have said previously, the Left Wing is synonymous to Eden Hazard and he starts every time for the Blues.
RW – WILLIAN
Since the arrival of Cuadrado, the Brazilian has taken his game to the next level and although, there’s some doubt surrounding his fitness, the winger will start if fully fit.
CAM – OSCAR
Oscar suffered a knock and had to sit out for the PSG clash, but the baby-faced killer will be back in the CAM spot to show his class at the Bridge tomorrow.
STRIKER – DIEGO COSTA
The Spaniard looked rusty in Paris in the midweek game and we sincerely hope that the Striker gets his touch back when he starts against the Clarinets tomorrow.
