Transfer News: Michael Essien Rejected Premier League Return
Essien is one of those players whom Chelsea fans can never forget. He came to Stamford Bridge in the year 2005 and left in the year 2014.
During his 9-year span in West London he gave Chelsea fan’s many unforgettable moments for instance his thunderbolt versus Arsenal and stunner versus Barcelona. Apart from this Bison was also a fans and managers favourite man because of his reliability and versatility, he was that kind of man who would do any thin for the team. Essien was an all round footballer for Chelsea was used to play in several roles like central mid, defensive mid and sometimes also as a full back. But in 2014 Essien left Chelsea because of his bad form and to give chance to many youngsters.
Now that he is an AC Milan player his form is still not as good as his peak year and he hasn’t been able to crack into Filippo’s first team and has started only nine games till now and being brought on four times. Many clubs across Europe are seeking to add experience in their midfield by signing Essien and according to reports from Metro and Express those clubs are Premier League’s bottom and mid table side QPR, West Brom, Burnley and Leicester City.
However, Essien’s agent Fabien Piveteau was quoted by The Metro as saying:
“Essien will not play in the Premier League for any club other than Chelsea. We had offers from West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers but we refused.”
Also according to Express reports he has been linked to Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.
After hearing this news Chelsea fan’s now even more deeply respect The Bison and because of this Essien has cemented his name in the hall of fame of Stamford Bridge.
Also Michael backs Chelsea to win every possible silverware this season and has praised this incredible Chelsea side.
