Okay, so we are back to our winning ways. After a couple of disappointing performances in the Premier League, the Blues were back in form to hand Sporting Lisbon a 3-1 defeat in the midweek Champions League fixture. Sitting 3 points clear of Manchester City in the PL table, the Blues next welcome Steve Bruce’s relegation battling Hull City at Stamford Bridge.
Hull City haven’t had the best of starts to their season as they find themselves in the lower half of the table sitting at the 18th position. Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, rested most of his key players in the midweek game which means, we would have a relatively healthy squad to chose from. Cesc Fabregas would be the only absentee who is serving a 1 game suspension.
So without wasting further time, let’s get on with the possible starting eleven that we think Jose Mourinho might roll on with against the Tigers tomorrow:
GK – PETR CECH
Petr Cech going to start as Courtois is injured.
CB – JOHN TERRY and GARY CAHILL
Cahill had a few sub-par performances, but the Englishman looked more than comfortable against the Portuguese side which means, he would partner our captain John Terry in the defence tomorrow.
LB – CESAR AZPILICUETA
Filipe Luis was really good offensively but left a lot to be desired defensively against Sporting which means, Cesar Azpilicueta will get the nod over the Brazilian at LB spot tomorrow.
RB – BRANISLAV IVANOVIC
The Serbian got his much-needed rest in the midweek and is set to start at RB against Hull City.
CM – NEMANJA MATIC and JOHN OBI MIKEL
The duo had a good game in the midweek and in the absence of Cesc Fabregas, Mikel might get another shot to pair with Nemanja Matic ahead of Ramires.
LW – EDEN HAZARD
The Belgian is back to wreak havoc in the opposition defence and cause nightmares to the fullbacks in his usual quest for greatness. He definitely starts.
RW – WILLIAN
The Brazilian also had a week off and would be relatively fresh and raring to go on the wings against the Tigers. He also starts tomorrow.
CAM – OSCAR
Another Brazilian who is having an amazing season is set to start at the No.10 spot tomorrow. Oscar has been immense for us this season but in the absence of Fabregas, the Brazilian will have to provide that creativity from the middle to break open the Tigers defense.
STRIKER – DIEGO COSTA
It’s a toss up between Didier Drogba and Diego Costa but the Spaniard might get the nod over the veteran in a hope to get back to his usual goalscoring ways.
