Chelsea opened up a seven-point lead at the Premier League summit as goals from Diego Costa and Eden Hazard secured a one-sided win over 10-men West Brom. The spectators witnessed the record start of the leaders in the premier league campaign.
Here’re the Things We Learned:
Usually, last year after almost every match the entire world used to curse the strikers for misfiring. But fortunately it has not been the case this time around as the newly recruited Spanish smasher, Diego Costa is firing the goals at will. , the Spaniard gave Blues the lead in the early stages of the game. He controlled a beautiful flicked pass from Oscar with his chest almost nonchalantly without any mistake before drilling it past Ben Foster.
Style of play
Jose Mourinho stated the style of play to be brilliant and beautiful. Newly recruited Blues Fabregas and Costa have gelled in the star-studded side perfectly with likes of Hazard, Oscar, Willian, etc. The leaders enjoyed the major part of possession and Thibaut Courtois was left untested at any level what so ever. The midfield created the chances at will and made the spaces for firing them in. The gameplay was so fluid that Blues could have had a big lead by half time. Ben Foster however looked like the knight whose brother in arms fled the field on the most important battle of all.
Stamford Bridge’s Atmosphere
Jose Mourinho slammed the home support for being unable to provide the required support in noise to the home side when Blues just edged past QPR in a 2-1 win at home. But yesterday the atmosphere was back to the one that Mourinho perhaps expects from the fans. The supporters hit back with Chelsea and Jose Mourinho chants noisily. The boss also apologised for the statements made in the past for the same in his post match interviews.
Home sweet home
The Premier League leaders were as strong as they have ever been at home, perhaps better. The blues are currently frighteningly unplayable. With the majority of possession and free style of play albeit in an organized manner. The teams simply have no idea how to tackle or just contain the Blues. It is only a matter of time before the Chelsea threat will be named right at the top with likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Is that possible this season? Yes, it can certainly happen and come May, Chelsea might be celebrating a double, treble or may be quadruple too in the London streets.
Title IS coming to London
Obviously London here means the Blue part of it. The bookies have already paid off on the Blues to lift the famous Premier League title come May. A look at the Premier League table shows that Chelsea are 7-points clear at the top after 12 games marking their best ever start to the campaign. At the moment with this form and devastating style of play coupled with the fact that Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton away trips are done, there is no one in sight looking to challenge the blues. Hence, there will be no surprise if the Stamford Bridge side undergo undefeated the whole season. That’s a hopeful thought; I know!
A message for rivals: Chelsea are very much capable of snatching anything from anywhere almost at their will. No one should write them off.
