Chelsea vs West Brom – Possible Starting Eleven
Time to rejoice. The meaningful football is back this weekend when league leaders Chelsea welcome 13th placed West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Jose Mourinho’s side is still unbeaten across all competitions in Europe, a streak that doesn’t look to be ending anytime soon, given the form the Blues are in.
With all the players back from the International break injury free, and both of our strikers Diego Costa and Loic Remy finally reaching full fitness, Jose Mourinho will have the strongest squad at his disposal. Although, Cesc Fabregas is expected to miss the encounter due to a muscle injury he picked up a couple of weeks back.
Despite the confusion over the availability of Fabregas, the Blues still have a pretty strong line-up, good enough to overcome the Baggies’ resistance at the Bridge and here’s how the boss is expected to start tomorrow:
GK – THIBAUT COURTOIS
Notwithstanding all the controversies surrounding the Belgian ace during the International break, our No.1 shot-stopper is expected to start over Petr Cech at the Bridge tomorrow.
LB – CESAR AZPILICUETA
Mourinho is expected to stick to his policy of starting Azpi at the LB spot in the league games while, preferring Filipe Luis in the Champions League games, which means it’s Azpi who gets the nod tomorrow.
RB – BRANISLAV IVANOVIC
The Serbian beast is one of the best RBs in the league and definitely a Mou favorite. If he is fit, he starts, simple as that.
CB – JOHN TERRY and GARY CAHILL
The best CB pair of the Premier League will be back tomorrow in the quest of yet another clean sheet, when they line up against West Bromwich Albion at the Bridge.
John Terry had a much needed 2 weeks of rest which means, the veteran defender would be fit and ready to take on Saido Berahino and co. along with his partner Gary Cahill tomorrow.
CM – NEMANJA MATIC and RAMIRES
Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas have been our first choice CM in every Premier League game this season. But the doubt lingering over the fitness of Spanish playmaker means we might see a new CM partnership at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Ramires started the last game against Liverpool before the International break and is expected to be back to full fitness to partner Matic at the weekend against the Baggies.
LW – EDEN HAZARD
No points for guessing here, as the destroyer of the opposition fullbacks will be up against Andre Wisdom in a hope to continue his glorious form and breathtaking displays tomorrow.
RW – WILLIAN
Willian has been decent for Blues on the RW this season. The Brazilian hasn’t exactly lit the league on fire, but the dire form of Schurrle and Salah means, the Samba man will have yet another chance to prove his worth in front of the boss.
CAM – OSCAR
Oscar has been a revelation for the Blues at the CAM spot this season. With his consistent performances that have garnered him praise from the manager himself, there’s no doubt he starts tomorrow against the Baggies.
STRIKER – DIEGO COSTA
Two weeks of rest means Diego Costa is fresh and back to his full fitness, which might be an ominous sign for West Brom players when they visit Stamford Bridge tomorrow. Even Loic Remy is back from injury, which means Blues are all set in the striking department, but it would be Costa who starts as the lone striker upfront.
