Even though, our young goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has kept successive clean sheets in his last two matches, he is not very happy with his performance.
However, he is happy that the team is winning, and that’s what matters in the end. He thinks Chelsea is conceding more goals as we are more offensive this season as compared to the last one.
“I’m not so concerned with that zero. The main goal is still to win.
“In my best period in Atlético, we played three games in a row 0-0. It’s nice when a goalkeeper holds that zero, but with a scoreless draw you often shoot little.”
And the absence of 0-0 draws has been the largest difference between the 22-year-old’s spells with Atletico and Chelsea, with the Blues a much more offensive team – resulting in less clean sheets.
He added: “I’m not satisfied when I concede three goals, as against Everton.
“But I have a feeling that we play more offensively at Chelsea than at Atlético.”
The more offensive style of play is certainly a joy to watch, and Courtois will surely be doing all he can to aid the new style with clean sheets as Chelsea look to clinch domestic and European glory.
