Chelsea Not a Threat : Boltan Wanderers Manager

Bolton Wanderers have not been very successful till now in their Championship campaign and have won just once in the league this season, and it’s obvious for the supporters to fear a Capital One Cup thrashing by the hands of Superior Chelsea.

But Bolton manager Dougie Freedman claims his players are not frightened about their prospects at Stamford Bridge.

“The key is to respect Chelsea, but not be in awe of them,” Freedman said.

“It’s a bigger stage. I won’t be losing any sleep about who Jose Mourinho will be picking – whatever team he picks it will be a strong side.

“As a player you need to big up yourself a little bit. That’s part of it.

“You can’t just think you’re a man of the street as if you’ve never played before. We won’t be in awe of them.

“There are one or two of our players who know they’ve come up a bit short recently, and have been told.

“We want to leave Stamford Bridge knowing that we gave everything. Not wishing we gave more.

“Chelsea are a club that has all the riches in the world, the best players in the world and from professional point of view it’s a great opportunity.”
