List of Chelsea Loan Players Season 2014/15

Here’s the list of Chelsea loan players for season 2014/15:

1. Wallace:

Date of birth: 01 May 1994
Place of birth: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Position: Right-back
Nationality: Brazilian
Previous clubs: Fluminense
International levels played at: Brazil Under-20s, Brazil Youth

Wallace signed for Chelsea in the January 2013 transfer window, and was immediately loaned back to former club Fluminense until the end of the season. He is an attacking right-back.

It was announced on June 30 2014 that Wallace would spend the 2014/15 season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

2.Tomas Kalas:  Born in Olomouc, Czech Republic on 15 May 1993, Tomas joined Chelsea full-time in January 2011 having signed a pre-contract agreement with the club the previous summer. A right-sided centre-half who can play right-back.

In June 2014 it was announced Kalas would be spending the 2014/15 season on loan at FC Cologne in the Bundesliga.

3.Thorgan Hazard: Born on 29 March 1993 in La Louviere, Belgium, Hazard’s transfer from FC Lens was completed on 24 July 2012.

Thorgan is two years younger than Eden Hazard, who joined Chelsea from Lille the same summer, but is of similar height and build and plays a similar range of attacking positions.

In July 2014 it was announced Hazard would spend the 2014/15 campaign on loan at German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

4. Bertrand Traore:

International levels played at: Burkina Faso full international, Burkina Faso youth

Bertrand Traore joined from Association Jeunes Espoirs De Bobo-Dioulasso, and is a full international for Burkina Faso having made his debut in September 2011, a few days before his 16th birthday. He made one substitute appearance at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

In July 2014 it was announced attacking midfielder spend the 2014/15 season on loan at Vitesse.

5. Lucas Piazon: Chelsea had to fight off interest from a number of the world’s leading clubs in order to secure the services of the highly-rated attacking midfielder, who was born on 20 January 1994 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In July 2014 it was announced he would spend the 2014/15 season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

6. Ryan Bertrand: In his ninth year at Chelsea, Ryan is a fast, attacking left-back, converted from a winger, who was signed in July 2005 from Gillingham. A tribunal set the fee at £125,000 initially with additional amounts to be paid depending on progress.

In the first half of the 2013/14 season, Bertrand’s involvement was limited to three appearances with Jose Mourinho’s preference for Cole or Cesar Azpilicueta in the left-back role. On 30 July 2014, Bertrand joined Southampton on loan for the 2014–15 season.

7. Mario Pasalic:

Nationality: Croatian
Previous clubs: Hajduk Split
International levels played at: Croatia full international, Croatia Under-21s, Croatia Youth

Mario Pasalic signed from Hajduk Split on 9 July 2014.

He is a 19-year-old attack-minded midfielder who has represented Croatia at Under-21 level and was named in his country’s 30-man provisional World Cup squad for Brazil 2014.

On signing for Chelsea he joined Jose Mourinho’s squad for pre-season training at Cobham and on 22 July, it was announced he would spend the 2014/15 season on loan in the Spanish top flight with Elche.

8. John Swift:

Place of birth: Portsmouth, England
Position: Midfielder
Nationality: English
International levels played at: England Under-16s, Under-17s, Under-18s, Under-19s

John Swift joined Chelsea as an Under-14 and is a hard-working box-to-box midfielder who is technically strong and capable of scoring goals.

An England international at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level, John signed his first professional contract at the club in the summer of 2012.

John is spending the 2014/15 season with Championship side Rotherham United. He returned to Chelsea in November having made four appearances. He moved on loan in January to League One Swindon until the end of the season.

9. Oriol Romeu: Oriol Romeu Vidal joined from Barcelona in August 2011, signing a four-year-contract.

NATIONALITY: Spanish; DATE OF BIRTH: 24.09.1991

Oriol signed a new three-year contract in the summer of 2014, before joining Bundesliga side Stuttgart on a season-long loan deal.

10. Kenneth Omeruo:

Date of birth: 17 October 1993
Place of birth: Obuohia Okike, Nigeria
Position: Defender
Nationality: Nigerian
International levels played at: Nigeria, Nigeria youth

A tall, quick centre-back or right-back, Kenneth is a Nigerian international who has played for his country since Under-17s.

In August 2014 it was announced he would be returning to Middlesbrough on loan for the 2014/15 campaign.

11. Christian Atsu: The transfer of Christian Atsu from FC Porto was completed on 1 September 2013.

Atsu is a left-footed attacker, capable of playing as a winger or a second striker. Atsu signed on loan with Everton for the duration of the 2014/15 in August 2014.

12. Jhoao Rodriguez:

Place of birth: Cali, Colombia
Position: Forward
Nationality: Columbian
Previous clubs: Quindio, Universidad Autonoma (loan)
International levels played at: Colombia Youth

Born on 19 May 1996, Jhoao Rodriguez is a young striker from Cali in Colombia who signed for Chelsea from Deportes Quindio, a club in his homeland, having begun his career in the Colombian lower leagues.

He has joined French top-flight club Bastia on loan until the end of the season.

13. Victor Moses: Victor Moses signed from Wigan Athletic on 24 August 2012.

The 21-year-old winger’s last appearance in Wigan colours had come in Chelsea’s 2-0 win at the DW Stadium the previous weekend, when he caught the eye with his strong running out wide.

The Nigerian international is a product of the Crystal Palace youth academy and made his first team debut for the south London club in late 2007.

On 16 August 2014 it was announced that Moses had joined Stoke City on loan until the end of the season.

14. Josh McEachran: Born on 1 March 1993 in Oxford, Josh has been with Chelsea since the age of eight, and was a regular in the youth team while still a highly-rated schoolboy.

A left-sided or central creative midfielder with vision and passing to match. In August 2014 it was announced McEachran would spend the 2014/15 season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie.

15.Marko Marin: Marko Marin’s transfer from Werder Bremen was agreed in April 2012, with the Serbian-born German linking up with his new team-mates at the beginning of pre-season for the 2012/13 campaign. Able to play as a winger as well as a central player, Marin is 5ft 7in (170cm) tall.

In August 2014 it was announced Marin would spend the 2014/15 season on loan at Fiorentina.

16.Cristian Cuevas: Cristian Cuevas joined from Chilean club O’Higgins in July 2013. At 5ft 7in tall he plays primarily as a left-back but can also operate as a left-winger.

Cuevas was also part of the Chile Under-21 squad at the Toulon Tournament, before signing for Universidad de Chile on loan in his homeland for the 2014/15 season.

17.Stipe Perica:

Place of birth: Zadar, Croatia
Position: Forward
Nationality: Croatian
Previous clubs: NK Zadar
International levels played at: Croatia Under-21s, Croatia Youth

Stipe Perica signed for Chelsea in August 2013, moving from NK Zadar in his native Croatia.

The forward spent the 2013/14 season on loan at NAC Breda in the Netherlands, scoring six goals in six starts and 20 sub appearances. The loan is extended for the 2014/15 season.

18. Lewis Baker: Baker signed a new five-year contract in August 2014 and was a member of Jose Mourinho’s first team squad for the first half of the 2014/15 campaign. It was announced on 8 January 2015 that his first loan spell is at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday until 2 May.

19. Gael Kakuta: Born on 21 June 1991 in France, Gael committed himself to the club until 2015 by signing a new contract in December 2010. That came midway through the player’s second season of first-team involvement during which he started both Premier League and Champions League fixtures as a wide player in the front three.

It was announced in July 2014 he would spend a season on loan in Madrid – at Spanish top-flight side Rayo Vallecano.

20. Patrick Bamford:

Patrick Bamford joined in January 2012 from Nottingham Forest where he made two first-team appearances. His Forest debut came as a substitute on the last day of 2011 against Cardiff City.

In late August 2014, Patrick joined Middlesbrough on loan until January 1. It was announced on 31 December that the loan was extended to the end of the season.

21. Alex Kiwomya:

Position: Forward
Nationality: English
Previous clubs: Rotherham
International levels played at: England Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19

On 3 January 2014 it was announced he would go on loan to League One Barnsley until the end of the season, his first loan spell.

22. Marco van Ginkel: Marco van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse Arnhem in July 2013, penning a five-year contract with the Blues.

The Dutch international, who is 6ft 1in tall, has built a reputation for good energy, ball control and passing in central midfield, both as an attacking force or in a more defensive role.

Having played a part in Jose Mourinho’s pre-season programme, it was announced on 1 September that Van Ginkel would spend the season on loan in Serie A at AC Milan.

23. Islam Feruz:

Position: Striker

International levels played at: Scotland Under-16s, Under-17s, Under-19s, Under-21s

A diminutive and pacey striker, Islam Feruz arrived at Chelsea from Celtic in the summer of 2011 and grabbed attention almost immediately as he led the line up front for our FA Youth Cup side while still an Under-16, scoring six goals in eight games as Adi Viveash’s side went on to win the competition.

On transfer deadline day at the start of September 2014 it was announced he would spend the season on loan at Greek top-flight side OFI Crete, managed by former Italy and AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.

24. Ulises Davila: Born in Guadalajara on 13 April 1991, the Mexican Under-20 international was signed on a five-year contract from Chivas in his home country in August 2011.

Davila can play either as an attacking midfielder or a forward and standing 5ft 7in tall, he is accomplished with the ball at his feet and a fine finisher with a strong team ethic.

It was announced that he would spend the season on loan in Spanish second division club at Deportivo Tenerife.

25. Matej Delac: Born in Gomji Vakuf-Uskoplje, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 20 August 1992. The goalkeeper’s arrival was announced on 1 September 2010.

He is on loan to Arles-Avignon who play in France’s Ligue 2, began on 1 September 2014 and is for the season.

26. Alex Davey: 

Date of birth: 24 November 1994
Place of birth: Welwyn Garden City, England
Position: Defender
Nationality: Scottish
International levels played at: Scotland Under-19s

It was announced on 26 November that Davey had joined League One Scunthorpe United on loan until 3 January, having also agreed terms on a new contract until 2016. It is his first loan spell.

On 2 January the loan was extended until the end of the season with the player having made four first team appearances for the Iron.

27. Todd Kane:

Place of birth: 17 September 1993
Position: Right-back
Nationality: English
International levels played at: England Under-19s

After starting the 2014/15 season with Chelsea’s Under-21 team, he moved back out on loan on 15 November, this time to League One Bristol City until 8 January when it was announced he was moving on loan to Championship side Nottingham Forest until 25 May.
