Is Paul Pogba Heading To Stamford Bridge?

Since the very start of the transfer window there have been numerous speculations of players joining Chelsea, and one name that has been in the boom is the French maestro Paul Pogba. The Juventus midfielder was signed from Manchester United in 2012, after their reluctance to play him in the first team and he made his mark shortly after joining Antonio Conte’s team and established himself as their key player in the middle of midfield.

The Lagny-sur-Marne born playmaker is just what Chelsea needs to fix the jigsaw in their team and make it a complete squad, as he is a complete out and out midfielder. Pogba possesses all the qualities that a modern day midfielder needs to have, be it defending, be it passing or be it attacking the Frenchman has been phenomenal in the midfield for the Turin based outfit.

It seems that there has been some concreteness about this transfer as the 21 year old midfielder was spotted in London yesterday and if the rumors or reports are to be believed, the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been analyzing his situation to pull out the transfer and with poor displays from the likes of Mikel and Ramires last season there seems to be a need of a instant replacement and Pogba definitely fits the bill for the blues, as Mourinho is aiming for the Premier League title and Pogba will only boost the title challenge for Chelsea.

Is Pogba’s Signing Apt for Chelsea?

If we look at the previous few seasons there has been an absence of a proper out and out defensive midfielder to add a new dimension to the game play and prove to be a vital asset for the team, to push for the titles both domestically and in Europe. But at the very same time it poses the threat to the likes of Namanja Matic(who has been a key figure for the team since January) and Marco Van Ginkel .

With the signing of Cesc Fabregas already done, and it remains a big question about their places in the squad and the position in which these players will be playing if Chelsea are to complete the signing of Paul Pogba.

In my opinion we need Pogba and at the same time we don’t need him because we already have a lot of midfielders in the present squad that are competing to play in the same position, but another fact cannot be neglected that we need sheer quality in the middle of midfield and Pogba is just the man to provide it.  Adding to this he has good vision and he can find the right balls for his teammated, moreover he is good in air and possesses a threat during set pieces.

But it ultimately comes to one man to decide and that man is Jose Mourinho who has got a big decision to make in terms of his options in the double pivot, that possibly requires a clear out if we are able to lure Pogba and we may well see few faces leaving the club this summer.
